तुम्ही कुठल्या क्रिया नियंत्रित करू शकता?

'तुम्ही कुठल्या क्रिया नियंत्रित करू शकता?' हा रटाळ मथळा वाचून ही पोस्ट स्किप करण्याचा विचार तुम्ही करत असाल, तर थांबा. कारण अशा क्रिया माहीत झाल्या तर तुम्ही अचूक इंग्रजी वापरू शकता.

1. See vs Look

तुमचे डोळे उघडे असले की डोळ्यांसमोर जे काही आहे, ते तुम्हाला दिसणारच. तुम्हाला काय दिसेल यावर तुमचे नियंत्रण नाही. मग म्हणा, I see. 

I came on the road and saw a crowd.

पण तुम्ही ठरवून कुठे पाहता, ती झाली तुमच्या नियंत्रणातील क्रिया.

I looked at the crowd and saw there was an accident.

2. Hear vs Look

डोळे तरी झाकता येतात. कान बंद केले तरी ऐकू येतच राहते. अशी ऐकण्याची क्रिया आपल्या नियंत्रणाबाहेर आहे. मग गोंगाट ऐकू आला तर काय म्हणणार?

I hear the noise.

पण काही गोष्टी आपण आपल्या निर्णयाने ऐकतो, जसे- संगीत. मग म्हणणार:

I listen the music.

कानावर पडत असेल तर 

I hear the music सुद्धा बरोबर आहे. पण दोन्हींमध्ये हा फरक आहे.

काळाची निवड:

आणखी एक गोष्ट. नियंत्रणाबाहेरील क्रियांसाठी simple tense म्हणजे साधा काळ वापरायचा, imperfect tense नाही. 

म्हणजे I see बरोबर आहे, I am seeing नाही.

I hear बरोबर आहे, I am hearing नाही.

आपल्या भावभावना सुद्धा अशाच आपल्या नियंत्रणात नसतात. काही आवडणे, न आवडणे आपल्या हातात नसते. तेव्हा I like बरोबर, I am liking नाही. 

तीच गोष्ट love, hate यांच्यासाठी. 

आता McDonald जाहिरात करतात I am loving it, पण ती जाहिरात झाली.

अशा तुम्हाला आणखी काही नियंत्रणातील आणि नियंत्रणाबाहेरील क्रिया सुचत असतील, प्रतिक्रियेमध्ये लिहून कळवा.

श्री गजानन विजय पोथीत उल्लेख केलेली वसंत पूजा

शेगावच्या श्री गजानन महाराजांच्या संत दासगणू लिखित  गजानन विजय पोथीच्या अध्याय ४ मध्ये वसंतपूजेच्या सोहळ्याचा उल्लेख आहे.  अध्यायातील ओव्या अशा आहेत:-

असो एक्या समयीं भली । समर्थांसी इच्छा झाली । ती त्यांनीं निवेदिली । आपुल्या शिष्यवर्गातें ॥४३॥

 

वैदिक ब्राह्मण बोलवा । मंत्रजागर येथें करवा ।

वेदश्रवणें देवदेवा । आनंद होतो अतिशय ॥४४॥

 

पन्हें पेढे बरफी खवा । भिजल्या डाळीस मीठ लावा । एकेक रुपया तो द्यावा । घनपाठी ब्राह्मणातें ॥४५॥

ऐसें भाषण ऐकिलें । शिष्य विनवूं लागले ।

ऐसे वैदिक नाहीं उरले । या आपुल्या शेगांवीं ॥४६॥

 

सांगाल तो करुं खर्च । परी अडचण आहे हीच ।

ब्राह्मण मिळविण्याचि साच । आमचा उपाय यातें नसे ॥४७॥

 

महाराज म्हणाले त्यावरी । करा उद्यां तयारी ।

ब्राह्मण धाडील श्रीहरी । तुमच्या वसंतपूजेला ॥४८॥

 

मग काय विचारितां । अवघे हर्षले तत्त्वतां ।

झाली तयारी हां हां म्हणतां । रुपये शंभर झाले जमा ॥४९॥

 

सामान सर्व आणिलें । चंदनाचें उटणें केलें ।

आंत केशर कालविलें । तैसाच आणखी कापुर ॥१५०॥

 

दोन प्रहरचे समयाला । ब्राह्मण आले शेगांवाला ।

जे पदक्रम जटेला । जाणत होते विबुध हो ! ॥५१॥

थाटांत वसंतपूजा झाली । ब्राह्मण मंडळी आनंदली । दक्षिणा घेऊनी गेली । अन्य ग्रामाकारणें ॥५२॥ 

संतांच्या जें मनीं येत । तें तें पुरवी रमानाथ ।

कमी न पडे यत्किंचित । ऐसा प्रभाव संतांचा ॥५३॥

 

बंकटलाल प्रतिवर्षी । व्रत हें चालवी अतीहर्षी ।

अजून परी शेगांवासी । वंशज त्याचे करिती हें ॥५४॥

पूज्य श्री. दासगणूंनी त्यांच्या रसाळ शैलीत वरीलप्रमाणे कथाभाग कथन केला आहे. सारांश असा आहे:-

महाराज आपल्या शिष्यांना वसंतपंचमीची वसंतपूजा साजरी करण्यास सांगतात. परंतु भक्त सांगतात की यासाठी लागणारे घनपाठी ब्राह्मण हल्ली मिळत नाहीत. परंतु महाराज सांगतात की तुम्ही पूजेची तयारी करा, ब्राह्मण आपोआप येतील. महाराजांचे भक्त त्याप्रमाणे पूजेची तयारी करतात. आयत्या वेळी ब्राह्मण येतात आणि पूजा यथासांग पार पडते. अध्यायातील हा भाग चांगला समजण्यासाठी येथे थोडी माहिती दिली आहे.

वसंतपूजा:

वसंतपूजा ही शैव-शाक्त तंत्रपद्धतीतली विशेष उपासना आहे. या पूजेमध्ये मन्त्रजप, न्यास, आवाहन, आवरणपूजा, होम इत्यादी अनेक पदक्रम (पायऱ्या/क्रम) असतात. त्यातच “पदक्रम-जटा” असा उल्लेख दिसतो.

पदक्रम-जटा:

पदक्रम म्हणजे एखाद्या मन्त्रातील प्रत्येक पद (शब्द) वेगळा करून त्याचा क्रमाने जप किंवा विनियोग करणे.

जटा ही एक पाठपद्धती आहे. वेदांमध्ये जशी जटा-पाठ पद्धत असते (उदा. शब्द पुढे-पुढे मागे-पुढे असा गुंफून म्हणणे), तशीच इथे मन्त्रपदांची विशेष मांडणी केली जाते.

त्यामुळे “पदक्रम-जटा” या वसंतपूजेतील टप्प्याचा अर्थ असा होतो की, मन्त्रपदांचे पदक्रमाने व विशेष (जटा-पद्धतीसारख्या) रचनेने उच्चारण करून जप करणे.

हे मुख्यत मन्त्राची अविचलता टिकवण्यासाठी,

शब्दशुद्धी साधण्यासाठी व मन्त्रशक्ती प्रबळ करण्यासाठी केले जाते.

म्हणजे वसंतपूजेच्या त्या भागात ज्या देवतेची उपासना केली जाते तिच्या मन्त्राचा पदक्रम-जटा पद्धतीने जप केला जातो.

घनपाठी ब्राह्मण:

"घनपाठी ब्राह्मण" म्हणजे तो ब्राह्मण ज्याने घनपाठ ही वेदपठणाची विशेष पद्धत शिकलो आहे.

वेदांमध्ये मंत्र पाठ करण्याच्या अनेक पद्धती आहेत – संहिता, पद, क्रम, जटा, घना वगैरे. 

१. संहितापाठ – जसा श्लोक आहे तसा थेट उच्चार. आपण सारे जण बहुतेक मंत्राचा संहितापाठ करतो. उदा. गायत्री मंत्र. ॐ भूर्भुव: स्व: तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि | धियो यो न: प्रचोदयात् |

२. पदपाठ – प्रत्येक शब्द वेगळा करून.

३. क्रमपाठ – दोन-दोन शब्द जोडून.

४. जटापाठ – दोन शब्दांना पुढे-पाठोपाठ उलटसुलट जोडून.

५. घनपाठ – यात तीन शब्दांचा गट घेऊन ते पुढेमागे, उलटे-पालटे करून अत्यंत गुंतागुंतीच्या रचनेत मंत्राचा जप होतो.

ही पद्धत फार कठीण असते आणि वेदपठणाची शुद्धता राखण्यासाठी पारंपरिक वेदाध्ययनात याला अत्यंत महत्त्व दिले गेले आहे.

म्हणून "घनपाठी ब्राह्मण" म्हणजे असा ब्राह्मण ज्याने वेदांचा घनपाठ शिकलाय आणि तो व्यवस्थित म्हणू शकतो. अशा व्यक्तीला समाजात फार मोठा सन्मान मिळतो. 

म्हणून वसंतपूजेसाठी घनपाठी ब्राह्मण कसे मिळणार अशी चिंता महाराजांच्या भक्तांना होती. परंतु महाराजांच्या कृपेने असे ब्राह्मण आपोआप आले आणि पूजा यथासांग पार पडली.

इंग्रजी भाषेच्या लीला

Can , able to की manage to

मित्रांनो, can , able to आणि manage to , तीन सारख्या दिसणाऱ्या शब्दरचना. पण तिन्हींमध्ये फरक आहे. चला आपण समजावून घेऊ या.

Can:

एखादा मनुष्य जेव्हा म्हणतो, I can pay, तेव्हा तो खालील गोष्टी गृहीत धरतो:

माझी पैसे देण्याची ऐपत किंवा क्षमता आहे. उदा. एखाद्या माणसाला ₹१०,००० द्यायचे आहेत तर त्याची प्राप्ती तेवढी असली पाहिजे, त्याच्या बॅंक खात्यात तेवढे पैसे असले पाहिजेत. 

Able to:

एखाद्या मनुष्य जेव्हा म्हणतो, I am able to pay, तेव्हा या क्षणाला त्याच्याकडे पैसे आहेत. म्हणजे एखाद्या मनुष्याची पैसे देण्याची क्षमता आहे, पण त्या वेळी त्याच्याकडे पैसे नसतील तर he is not able to pay. 

Able to म्हणजे या क्षणाला ती व्यक्ती ती गोष्ट करीत आहे, त्याची क्षमता आहे की नाही, माहीत नाही.

दुसरी महत्त्वाची गोष्ट म्हणजे able to च्या आधी to be चे कुठले तरी रूप म्हणजे am, is , are आले पाहिजे. नुसतेच able to म्हणणे चुकीचे होईल. 

आता भूतकाळात बोलायचे असेल तर can चे could होईल, able to तसेच राहील, पण to be चे भूतकाळातील रूप, जसे was किंवा were येईल.

भविष्यकाळात can तसेच राहील, able to तसेच राहील, पण be च्या आधी भविष्यकाळ दाखवण्यासाठी त्याआधी shall किंवा will येईल. जसे, I can pay tomorrow किंवा I will be able to pay tomorrow.

अर्थ स्पष्ट करण्यासाठी आणखी एक चांगला शब्दसमूह म्हणजे managed to. याचा अर्थ म्हणजे जेमतेम, कसेबसे केले. हा बहुतेक भूतकाळातच वापरला जातो.

आता पहा,

I could pay, but I was not able to pay as I had no cash. At last I borrowed from a friend and managed to pay.

The bus was slow and I could/was able to easily catch it. 

The bus was fast, but I managed to catch it.

Can चा आणखी एक उपयोग म्हणजे परवानगी मागण्यासाठी.

Can I use your phone please- मी तुमचा फोन वापरू का?

Can I sit here please-मी येथे बसू शकतो का?

(नम्रता दाखवण्यासाठी please  हा शब्द हवा)

आता तुम्ही I can able to pay म्हणणार नाही ना? 🚫
